I know what you’re thinking. And, no I’m not talking about the Chris Brown song….
Anyway, I just saw this band open up for Portugal. The Man last month and I was THOROUGHLY impressed with their live show. Immediately after I got home I downloaded their debut LP, Reality vs. The Optimist. If you’re looking for something both chaotic yet extremely musical I would highly recommend the experimental band Kiss Kiss. This band dances around in so many different genres it’s tough to keep up with them. What sets their music apart is how they manage to employ an electrical violin into such complex and dynamic music. One minute you’ll be dancing and clapping around in triple meter goodness and the next a shrieking violin tremolo will send a dissonant chill up your spine. The only downfall is the vocalist definitely takes some getting used to. It’s not the best voice but within this band it works extremely well.
Kiss Kiss just released a new album, The Meek Shall Inherit, on July 7th. I haven’t actually checked this out yet but I am definitely getting around to it soon. Check back for a review in the near future!
